When a company with more than 50 years in the market decides to change the technological foundation that supports its operation, it's because the transformation is, in fact, strategic.
This was the case for Candide, one of the largest toy manufacturers and distributors in Brazil, which found in Active and Oracle NetSuite the ideal partners to support its growth journey.
We spoke with Rogério Goussain Labat, CTO of Candide, who shared the behind-the-scenes details of the project and the results achieved.
The challenge: to grow with control and professionalize management.
Before NetSuite, Candide used a legacy ERP system developed internally, with technical maintenance performed by its own IT team. Although functional, the system proved limited in the face of the company's new objectives, which included internalizing accounting, launching new product lines, and preparing for structured expansion.
“There came a point where it was unfeasible to develop everything internally. We needed to professionalize the company and think about the operation as a whole.” — Rogério Labat, CTO of Candide
The request came directly from the company's CEO, who tasked the IT team with finding a modern, scalable solution that met the business requirements.
The selection process: scalability, usability, and web.
After analyzing options such as Senior, TOTVS, and SAP B1, Candide opted for Oracle NetSuite. According to Labat, NetSuite's differentiating factors were its usability, cloud architecture, and ease of integration with other strategic tools.
The hiring decision also took into account the relationship with Active, recognized for its expertise in implementing NetSuite in Brazil.
“We already had a clear idea of the budget. The process was quick: about 2 to 3 months from identifying the need to signing the contract.” — Rogério Labat
Implementation: WMS, automation, and logistics evolution.
The project began with the implementation of the Purchasing, Sales, Finance, Partner Portal, and CNAB Active modules, with particular emphasis on the WMS (Warehouse Management System), which revolutionized the company's logistics.
Previously, Candide's warehouse operated with a block-style model. Today, thanks to NetSuite, the operation is vertically managed, with palletization and specific automation, which have increased productivity and reduced errors.
“The WMS was a game-changer. Now we have complete traceability of the operation, increased efficiency in picking, and much more control over inventory.” — Rogério Labat
The implementation benefited from technical support from Active, and special mention goes to the work of Active professionals, as well as customizations and support requests with Oracle to adapt the system to the company's specific needs.
Results achieved
- Eliminating dependency on legacy systems
- Increased scalability and integration capabilities
- Logistics evolution with WMS, palletization, and vertical addressing.
- Strategic use of technology focused on growth and data.
- Flexibility to adapt the system according to business demands.
Next steps: AI, Analytics, and strategic vision.
With the ERP system up and running and delivering concrete results, Candide is already envisioning the next steps: investing in artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and transforming technology into a strategic driver, going beyond transactional routines.
“Our focus now is to move away from the operational and look at the strategic. NetSuite gave us that foundation. And Active has been a partner in this process.” — Rogério Labat
Success with purpose
More than just a system change, the project with Active represented a turning point in Candide's operations. By investing in a robust, integrated, and customizable cloud solution, the company gained the momentum to grow with greater security, control, and a future-oriented vision.
